1.6 understand the differences between elements, compounds and mixtures

ELEMENTS:

- They only consist of one type of atom.

COMPOUNDS:

- They are substances that are only made up of two or more different elements. They have to be bonded. Since they are bonded it is a lengthy process to separate the original elements.

MIXTURES:

- They are substances that contain multiple different elements, but they are not bonded. This makes it easier to separate the different elements.
